L’ampia area del Clementinum è uno dei più estesi complessi di edifici in Europa e fu originariamente costruito come collegio gesuita. Nell’ambito della visita guidata è possibile ammirare la Sala della Biblioteca barocca, spesso considerata la più bella al mondo. Terminata nel 1727, il suo fondo, ancora aperto, contiene oltre 27.000 volumi, per lo più di letteratura teologica in lingua straniera. La sala è decorata da stupendi affreschi a tema scientifico e artistico; nella sala sono esposti anche diversi globi di alto valore storico. Un’altra fermata importante lungo il percorso è la Sala della Meridiana, dove sono conservati gli strumenti astronomici originari per il calcolo del vero mezzogiorno. Momento culminante della visita è la Torre dell’Orologio astronomico che, con i suoi 68 metri di altezza, offre una vista indimenticabile sul centro e sul Castello di Praga.
