Did you know that...

The Mirror Maze on Petřín Hill is a Neo-Gothic building constructed at the end of the 19th Century as an entertainment pavilion. Today it houses a labyrinth and a hall of mirrors. This popular destination for families with children can be found near the Petřín Lookout Tower. The maze can be reached by a scenic cableway or by a pleasant walk through the large park.

In addition to the maze in the pavilion, there is also a large painting with a three-dimensional foreground that depicts the battle between Prague residents and Swedish soldiers on Charles Bridge in 1648, known as the defence of the Old Town Bridge Tower. The painting measures 80 square metres and it is interesting to see what the left bank of the Vltava River looked like in the mid-17th Century.

TIP: While you’re in the area, don’t miss the nearby Memorial to the Victims of Communism created by famous Czech sculptor Olbram Zoubek.
