Did you know that...

Marold Panorama is a monumental painting of a battlefield dating from the late 19th Century. The painting, which is 95 metres wide and 11 metres high, is housed in a unique circular pavilion. This was specially designed for this work and contains, in addition to the canvas, replicas of wagon walls, weapons and other period war props. These create the illusion of three-dimensional space and complete the atmosphere of the battle.

The Battle of Lipany was a turning point in the Hussite Wars, but for Marold this historical theme was highly unusual. The colossal work was made available as part of the Exhibition of Architecture and Engineering, which took place at the Exhibition Grounds in 1898.
