Did you know that...
The Botanical Garden extends above the Zoological Garden and offers 25 hectares of areas, on which there are arranged flower exhibitions with an elevation of 100 meters. The entire area is divided into thematic sections and geographical units, where you can see the Japanese garden, Mediterranean flora, forest exhibits or plants of dry subtropical and tropical regions, vineyards with the chapel of Saint Claire or tropical greenhouse Fata Morgana. It is 130 meters long and consists of three climatically different parts that represent plants from all over the world.
The garden offers to visitors space for relaxation, entertainment, but also for learning. There is also a workplace that captures and processes some types of diversity of plant species from around the world and deals with the issue of protecting the natural habitats of plant species. The botanical garden is open to visitors all year round. In addition to public transport, you can also get to the entire area from April to September by steamboat, which departs from Rašín's embankment.
