Did you know that...

The Ceremonial Hall was built in 1906 in Neo-Romanesque style. It originally served as a mortuary and a place to bid farewell to the deceased, but later became part of the pre-war Jewish Museum. The current exhibition maps Jewish religious customs related to illness and death, as well as the activities of the Prague Funeral Brotherhood, an important religious and social institution in the ghetto. Here you can view related silver ritual objects as well as the famous 15-part series of paintings from the 1870s depicting funeral rites.

You can get a one-time ticket to all the buildings of the Prague Jewish Town at the ticket office of the Information and Reservation Centre or at the Pinkas Synagogue, Klaus Synagogue, Maisel Synagogue (Sundays only), Spanish Synagogue and High Synagogue. Don’t forget to keep your ticket!
